This is one of the first photos I took of her, which sat undeveloped on an underwater disposable camera until 2019. I shopped at the thrift store for her outfit because I made a video of her treading water, and didn’t want her to ruin her own things in the chlorine. The video wasn’t meant as a metaphor, but I suppose we have both mostly been treading water. Diana refused to wear the leopard high heels in the pool, not wanting to damage them. She wore a different, gold pair I bought her, the gold peeled from the shoes almost instantly.
